I’m so excited to share a few of Becca & Jon’s St. Michaels engagement!
Becca & Jon reside in Washington DC and are planning their gorgeous DC wedding at the Decatur House in October. When Becca asked if I would be up for something different, and go to St. Michaels on the Eastern Shore for the engagement session, I was all in.
We met up at the Lighthouse Oyster Bar & Grill for a cocktail and snack before we ventured off on a pretty steamy spring evening. Being close to the water always offers a refreshing breeze. We walked through town, made our way to a little park near the Maritime Museum, and explored a secluded beach. There was a storm rolling in off in the distance that blocked our sunset, but at the last moment there was a small opening in the clouds that gave us a pocket of light.
Thank you so much Becca & Jon for being amazing yesterday!
Christina & Gregg’s Eastern Shore Engagement Session
I met with Christina & Gregg at the end of November, totally expecting to freeze, but in true Maryland form, the weather was unpredictably beautiful! The trees are totally bare in the DC area, so I was pleasantly surprised to still see all the fall colors, when all that was separating us was the bay. They brought their beautiful dog with them and we ended the session with a perfect sunset on the beach.
I had so much fun walking around the campus of the University of Maryland for Allison & Matt’s winter engagement session. So much has changed since the last time I had been there, yet so much seemed the same. I always encourage couples to choose a location for their engagement session that they can relate to, not only did it have a lot of meaning to them and their relationship, it’s also a picturesque campus.
Our first stop was the Riggs Alumni building so we could grab a shot of their brick! After changing outfits, and we made our way to Lefrak Hall. That’s the building where it ALL STARTED!
The mall was our next stop and even though the library was completely surrounded by orange plastic construction fencing, creative angles and a little photoshop magic brought it back to its natural state. Matt’s sister bought them both jerseys, and we had a few laughs when we realized if they weren’t standing next to each other in a certain order, their jerseys said “71” instead of their wedding year of “17”.
They have the sweetest dog, she was so good and posed for me whenever I needed her to;) I wanted to incorporate their alumni brick one more time, and the only way to do that was to have them lay on the ground. Now that Allison wasn’t wearing a dress, we headed back for a last shot and I am so glad we did!
Allison & Matt’s wedding is THIS WEEKEND! They are a really busy couple, but I’m glad we managed to squeeze some posing practice in before their big day. Their Tabrizi’s wedding is going to be full of laughter and love. I can’t wait to meet their families and friends. Preparing for their wedding has been so flawless, all thanks to their amazing planner Caitlin Krebs!
Allison & Matt’s University of Maryland Campus Engagement Session
I am excited to share Tracy & Mike’s Historic London Town & Gardens Engagement Session today!
In Tracy’s first email to me, she mentioned that one of my married couples referred her to me. Thank you Christine & Alex! I love working with the friends of some of my favorite people.
We chose to have the session at Historic London Town and Gardens, and then to finish off the session, we would head over to Mike’s parents house on the water not too far away. I have been to the Gardens before to help assist with a wedding for another photographer several years ago, but it was the first time I really got a chance to walk the grounds and see what they have to offer. It was perfect. The real treat though, came during the second half of our session, when we went to Mike’s parent’s house. The waterfront was absolutely breathtaking. The water was so calm and we were surrounded with peak fall colors in the trees. Their Annapolis wedding in September is going to be one for the books!
Meadowlark Botanical Gardens Engagement Session with Lindsay & Kevin!
One of my absolute favorite locations, I met up with Kevin and Lindsay and their pup too! We started out the session a little off site of the gardens since they don’t allow dogs, but can you believe that some of these were taken behind the parking lot? Even when you aren’t inside the gardens themselves, it’s still beautiful. I had a great time shooting this. Our light was bright and it was a cloudless sky, but we had lots of open shade to work with since the leaves were just starting to turn. We finished the session with a toast and getting soaked in champagne!
I can’t wait for their October 2017 wedding!
Sara & Dillon hail from PA and have been living in the DC area for the past few years. They are planning their PA wedding and move back home soon, but wanted to document their time living in the DC area. So we hit tons of my favorite landmarks like the National Gallery of Art, Lincoln Memorial, and many others! I think this session goes into one of my all time favorites!
A sneak peek of Becca & Kevin’s sweet engagement session!
My first stop was Kevin & Becca’s home. The front porch was decorated so beautifully with mums and pumpkins. And when I went into the back yard….Oh my gosh. Becca had an adorable set up in the corner of their yard complete with a rustic bench, corn stalks and pumpkins. After we finished our shots with their adorable (and huge) dogs, we drove to Jerusalem Mill Village in Harford County, MD. These two are the sweetest couple and I can’t wait for their wedding next September!
Mom totally photobombed us!
